News from the IT community on October 9th: Microsoft @XBOXWire tweeted yesterday (October 8th) on the X platform, announcing that "Monster Hunter Stories 3: Fate of the Twin Dragons" (Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection) will be released on XBOX on PC on November 18, 2026, and will support XBOX Play Anywhere for the first time.

IT Note: XBOX on PC is a gaming environment provided by Microsoft for Windows devices. Players can install, launch, and manage Xbox games through the Xbox application on Windows PC, and use their Xbox account to access the game library, achievements, and related services.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Fate of the Twin Dragons was released on the XBOX Series S |X gaming console on March 13, 2026, however, it did not support XBOX Play Anywhere at the time of its initial launch.

XBOX Play Anywhere is a cross-platform purchasing benefit launched by Microsoft. After players purchase games that support this feature from the Xbox digital store, they can download and play them on the Xbox console and on Windows PC. There is no need to purchase them again; eligible games also allow for the synchronization of saves, achievements, and DLC content.

XBOX Ally and other compatible devices, as well as Windows handhelds, are also within the scope of support this time. Players can switch between playing on handhelds, PC, and consoles, while maintaining the same game content and progress.
