Bitget CEO: Withdrawal suspended, to be resumed in batches due to a security incident
2026-09-28 21:00:30
According to CoinMeta, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated during a live broadcast on September 28th that this security incident affected the withdrawal infrastructure for multiple chains and various assets. Therefore, before resuming withdrawals, each chain's withdrawal process needed to undergo a series of security checks, and the platform could only restore withdrawals in batches. She emphasized that suspending withdrawals was a safety measure and had nothing to do with whether users' assets were sufficient; any related losses would be fully covered by the Bitget protection fund. Bitget resumed withdrawals for BTC first because the withdrawal channel for BTC was the first to be restored and was not affected by this attack, thus it did not require the same level of comprehensive security verification. ETH and USDT will follow suit, with their withdrawals being restored based on the progress of security verifications and user demands.
