According to CoinMeta, OpenAI has been looking for a new Chief Communications Officer (CCO) for the past nine months, and since the previous CCO Hannah Wong resigned in January of this year, the company has not yet appointed a replacement. Despite OpenAI being involved in disputes related to security, regulation, and legal conflicts with Elon Musk, finding the right candidate remains very difficult. According to a survey by the Pew Research Center, public concern about AI is increasing; only 8% of Americans are excited about this technology, down from 18% in 2021. The CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, also acknowledges that the AI industry is doing poorly at explaining the technical advantages to the public.
