CoinMeta data: Thorchain rejected the request from Bitget, but failed to prevent the hacker from transferring approximately 6 million US dollars to Bitcoin. The hacker used Thorchain to exchange about 6.3 million US dollars worth of Ethereum (ETH) for Bitcoin (BTC), and successfully completed 27 transactions involving approximately 2390 ETH. All Bitcoin payments were transferred to a single address. Bitget suffered a security vulnerability worth 3.88 million US dollars on September 24th, allowing the hacker to bypass the security controls protecting the exchange wallet. Bitget's CEO, Gracy Chen, has publicly demanded that Thorchain reject any transactions related to the hacker. Thorchain stated that their policy allows anyone to use the network and emphasized the difference between their emergency shutdown controls and address blacklists.
