According to CoinMeta, as reported by CryptoNews, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin described in his vision on September 27th that Ethereum would transition from a system where each validator repeats most of the work to one that can perform data sampling and checks through compact proofs. Some of these functions have already been implemented, known as Peerdas, while the larger transformation of execution is still under development. By 2030, it is envisioned that Ethereum will become a “cryptographic world computer,” allowing the network to verify results through cryptographic proofs without each computer having to repeat the same work.
