According to CoinMeta, as reported by NBC, three American officials revealed that two weeks ago, an Iranian cruise missile struck a U.S. vessel on mission in the Strait of Hormuz, injuring eight U.S. Marine Corps members. The officials stated that the Marines' injuries were not severe, but they suffered smoke inhalation and may have sustained traumatic brain injuries due to symptoms of concussion such as headaches. Seven of the eight Marines were soldiers and one was an officer; all of them returned to duty shortly after the attack on September 14. At the time of the Iranian missile strike, the Marines were part of a battalion landing operation team. The officials mentioned that the Marines were not on a U.S. Navy vessel at the time. It is noted that the U.S. Department of Defense had not disclosed the attack on U.S. forces in the region on September 14.
