Tessell launches three dedicated proxies built on Gemini, opening a conversational "front door" for automated operations, governance, and cloud migration of large-scale enterprise database workloads.

San Francisco, November 5, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Tessell ( www.tessell.com ) is one of the leading providers of multi-cloud database as a service ( DBaaS ). The company announced the launch of three dedicated proxies built using Google Gemini on its multi-cloud database platform. This announcement was showcased live on Oracle AI World by Google on October 28th, marking a step forward for Tessell customers towards “proxy-based database lifecycle management” when running complex enterprise database workloads on Google Cloud.

With the help of Gemini, these new proxies transform the chat interface into an intelligent, conversational control plane. DBA, site reliability engineers (SRE), platform managers, and enterprise migration teams can now use natural language to manage complex database engines for the first time, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL. For Google Cloud deployments, all underlying infrastructure operations are automatically routed to Google Cloud hardware, including memory-optimized M4 / M4N Compute Engine series as well as Hyperdisk Extreme / Balanced storage.

"Integrating the capabilities of our platform into a conversational framework has been a turning point for our engineering team," said Kamal Khanuja, co-founder of Tessell. "Agents such as Tessell Ops, Governance, and Migrate act as an extension of our database team, capable of executing complex backend workflows through simple natural language commands, ranging from deploying pre-approved blueprints to coordinating complex cross-regional disaster recovery switches. We are freeing DBA and SRE from tedious manual tasks, while ensuring that full data ownership remains with the customers themselves in their own VPC and keys."

Three dedicated proxies cover the entire lifecycle management.

This collaboration introduces three different proxies, each responsible for specific operational and maintenance areas:

  • Tessell Ops Agent: Automated daily database management. It is responsible for collecting parameters, instantiating high-availability database engines, checking real-time services and host metrics (such as CPU load and blocked sessions), and automatically performing time-point restores, vertical scaling, credential rotation, and blueprint deployments.
  • Tessell Governance Agent: Executes corporate compliance and security policies through a conversational approach. This agent can be configured to back up SLA, disaster recovery topologies, and allow customers to autonomously manage encryption keys (CMEK). It also audits role-based permissions, automates data masking templates for development/test clones, and generates compliance proof summaries for PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
  • Tessell Migrate Agent: Simplifies and accelerates the data center decommissioning and cloud migration process. It inventorys source database assets (locally deployed, AWS RDS or virtual machines), calculates the optimal Google Cloud target configuration, develops a step-by-step implementation manual, tracks the automated replication pipeline, and provides real-time metrics in the chat, such as CDC replication latency. It also supports database engine modernization, for example, replatforming traditional Oracle SE workloads to PostgreSQL on Google Cloud.

For banks, insurance companies, healthcare institutions, and government departments, Governance Agent can turn audit preparation and strategy execution into a single process, while data, keys, and access permissions remain within the customers' own cloud accounts.

"These proxies are designed for the most difficult-to-migrate and most challenging assets to operate and maintain. Enterprise database assets, especially those built on large Oracle and SQL Server systems, have historically been accompanied by a heavy operational burden and rigid dependencies," said Bala Kuchibhotla, co-founder and CEO of Tessell. "In the past, planning a migration or conducting a cross-regional disaster recovery switch often required weeks of preparation involving operation manuals, work orders, and handovers. Today, with Tessell's zero-downtime capabilities, lift-and-shine DBaaS modes, and Google's Gemini, this process can now start with just a single conversation. Since these proxies run on Tessell's multi-cloud platform, customers can achieve a unified operational model across their entire asset portfolio and transition to modern cloud in a fast and data-loss-free manner."

Voters veto the AI data center due to concerns about resources; why is it difficult to measure water consumption?
This week, voters clearly expressed their desire to impose restrictions on artificial intelligence data centers, with 40 out of 41 proposed voting measures passing. Reports indicate that water and electricity are the issues that residents are most concerned about, but it is difficult to accurately calculate how much local resources data centers consume, as operators typically disclose usage on a company-wide basis rather than for individual sites.

Is there risk in the U.S. stock market? Will the Democratic Party's promotion of AI policy trigger even more selling of tech stocks?
The Democratic Party's victory in the midterms has reignited market concerns regarding regulations on AI and data center restrictions. The article states that tech giants plan to invest over $740 billion in capital expenditures in 2026, and these "seven giants" account for about 34% of the S&P 500 index, making the broader market more sensitive to fluctuations in tech stocks.
