Amid concerns about debt and demand, the market has recently been weighed down by worries regarding the sustainability of AI transactions. On its first day of trading, the South Korean AI company Elice tumbled by over 30%, dampening sentiment in the tech sector earlier in the day.

However, as trading progressed, some stocks related to AI rebounded. Western Data closed up 3.44%, Seagate Technology rose 2.17%, CoreWeave increased by 1.65%, and Micron Technology gained 1.40%.

Jack Behan, the head of capital markets at the American asset management firm Direxion, stated, "For most of this year, the market has been willing to ignore higher interest rates because the growth story—especially the growth story surrounding AI—was sufficient to support such an attitude. Last week, we saw that relationship begin to be tested."

He also stated, "Ultra-large-scale cloud computing vendors will release their financial reports in the coming weeks, which will be the next major stress test for the AI transactions. Regarding return on investment, data center expenditures, and guidance on capital spending for 2027, these will be even more important than the overall profit figures."

Jeff Smith, the CEO of the American hedge fund Starboard Value, stated that he believes the next few years will be "very exciting" for value stocks. The logic behind this is that companies that fully implement artificial intelligence within their organizations will be able to improve their profits "more quickly" by enhancing efficiency.

Industrial giant 3M saw its closing stock price surge by 5.78%, providing support for the Dow Jones Index. The company's financial report exceeded expectations, and it also raised its full-year performance forecast.

In addition, new single-family home starts also weakened, with a total of 859,000 units, a decrease of 4.6% from the previous month.

According to CCTV News, on the 20th local time, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated during a meeting with Pakistani Army Chief of Staff General Munir that all issues in the region, from tensions and conflicts to the chaos in the Strait of Hormuz, are caused by U.S. aggression; it is impossible for the United States to increase sanctions and pressure on Iran while claiming to want to engage in dialogue and negotiations. Iran has been willing to talk in the past and is still willing now, but the United States must first remove threats and sanctions before any dialogue can take place.

Internal materials indicate that Amazon expects to receive about $5 billion worth of GB300 racks in August, followed by about $3 billion per month thereafter; AWS executives also stated in an internal meeting that the company's free cash flow is expected to remain negative in the coming years.
