Blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis indicates that one of the biggest victims in the Ledger wallet theft case was a scammer who lost over 60 bitcoins, amounting to approximately $4.8 million. Chainalysis claims that these funds came from a scam involving a task, and the victim transferred the proceeds to three Ledger addresses on September 22; on October 9, the funds from these three addresses were transferred away. Ledger states that all the confirmed losses are related to equipment sold by distributor CryptoBilis, but Chainalysis does not specify where this scammer purchased the equipment from.

Blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis indicates that one of the biggest victims in the Ledger wallet theft case was a scammer, who lost over 60 bitcoins, amounting to approximately $4.8 million.

Recent disclosures about the theft that occurred after the Ledger hardware wallet was tampered with have triggered some schadenfreude reactions, as it was later discovered that one of the victims was a scammer who had lost over 60 BTC, amounting to approximately 4.8 million US dollars.

Chainalysis disclosed the transactions behind this theft in a tweet on Thursday, stating that the total amount of stolen funds was approximately 4.8 million US dollars in Bitcoin.

According to Chainalysis, these bitcoins came from a scam involving a task. Victims were paid to fake the sales and reviews of real products, until their accounts showed a "negative balance." Subsequently, they were required to invest their own money in order to receive any compensation.

Chainalysis wrote: 'One of the biggest victims in the Ledger theft case was a scammer themselves. They lost over 60 BTC, which is approximately 4.8 million US dollars. According to Chainalysis, on September 22, the perpetrators of this fraud transferred their gains to three separate Ledger addresses. On October 9, the thieves transferred all the funds from these three addresses, with one transfer from each address, and ultimately all the funds ended up in the same wallet; this wallet has been reported to be holding the stolen money.

Ledger disclosed this incident on October 9th.

Regarding the tampered Ledger devices, Chainalysis does not mention where this scammer purchased these devices from.

On-chain investigator Specter has traced over $86 million in suspected stolen funds, but Ledger indicates that this figure has not yet been verified. On Tuesday, Ledger requested that its dealers and distributors in six Southeast Asian countries and Hong Kong suspend the sale of their equipment.

Ledger indicates that the total number of affected users or the amount of losses has not yet been confirmed, as the investigation is still in progress.

Where exactly did the $100 billion spent by Microsoft, Google, and Meta on the AI infrastructure go?
The article points out that when companies such as Microsoft, Google, or Meta announce investments of $100 billion in artificial intelligence, this money does not all flow to NVIDIA. Instead, it is dispersed among a vast industrial chain consisting of chip manufacturers, data center developers, power suppliers, and equipment providers. Some companies receive payments during the infrastructure construction phase, while others generate ongoing revenue after the facilities are put into operation.

David Schwartz: XRP Going to the "moon" is not a problem; the real challenge lies in practical applications.
One of the co-founders, XRP Ledger, and David Schwartz stated that most of the technical issues with the network have been resolved. The real obstacles lie in liquidity, the processes for depositing and withdrawing funds, and the connection with existing financial systems. They believe that more independent participants joining the governance will help prevent XRP Ledger from being seen as a tool that serves only the interests of Ripple.
