A casual blunder at Times Square has provided quite a bit of conversation material for the XRP community. Before Ripple took a selfie in front of a billboard that Sydney Sweeney was filming for the sports prediction platform Novig, the founder Charles Hoskinson couldn't help but make a joke.
“Oops, wrong billboard”
“Got it this time”
Schwartz then posted another selfie, this time standing in front of the correct screen. On the billboard was displayed the brand logo of Evernorth as well as its NASDAQ ticker XRPN.
“Got it this time,” he wrote.
Evernorth is a XRP treasury company, led by former Ripple board member Asheesh Birla. It holds approximately 473 million XRP and has raised a total of about 300 million US dollars in revenue. The company began trading on NASDAQ this month and rang the NASDAQ closing bell on October 14th.
Ripple marked this moment on X, calling Evernorth a "new milestone in the XRP ecosystem," and stated that this allows XRP to play a role through institutional strategies.
XRP Fans have read more meanings from this post. A user X claimed that when Schwartz mentioned Sweeney last time, the price of XRP rose by about 80%, from $0.98 to $1.78, before then falling back down.
However, there is no indication in the text that Sweeney holds XRP, and it is clear that the comment from Hoskinson is merely a joke.
