SanDisk ( Sandisk ) announced yesterday the launch of the Sentinel ( Guardian ) series of high-end, durable storage products, aimed at scenarios such as dashcams that require continuous recording, home smart surveillance devices, and vehicle sentinel modes.

According to a press release from Sandisk, this series of products is designed to meet the stringent requirements of continuous loop recording and can maintain stable writing in harsh environmental conditions.

Susan Park, Vice President of Consumer Products at Sandisk, stated in a press release: "Traditional storage products struggle to meet the demands of continuous recording in harsh environments, which is why we have launched the Sandisk Sentinel series to provide consumers with more reliable, all-weather performance."

This series includes three products. Among them, the SanDisk Sentinel dashcam microSD is specifically designed for continuous high-durability video recording in complex driving environments. It supports recording at resolutions ranging from full HD to 4K ultra-high definition and can withstand high temperatures and humid conditions during long-distance drives.

According to official Sandisk data, this card offers a range of capacities from 32GB to 512GB. The 512GB version has been tested to support up to 40,000 hours of driving video recording.

SanDisk Sentinel Security Monitoring microSD is designed for intelligent surveillance camera devices, aiming to operate in conjunction with cloud storage or as a local storage solution. Even if there is an interruption in Wi-Fi, it can still retain video footage.

This card also offers capacity options ranging from 32GB to 512GB, featuring high-temperature resistance, waterproofing, and dustproofing properties, making it suitable for outdoor monitoring systems that operate throughout the year. It supports recording in full HD up to 4K ultra-high definition.

In addition, Sandisk has also launched the Sentinel in-vehicle USB-C flash drives, which are specifically designed to be compatible with vehicle-built monitoring systems and feature an ultra-compact design. Referring to previous reports from IT Home, the CZ53C series of Sentinel in-vehicle USB-C flash drives are now available on JD.com, with the 128GB model priced at 499 yuan and the 1TB model at 2599 yuan.

According to a press release from Sandisk, the recommended retail price for the 32GB version of the Sentinel series memory cards is $28.99 (Note from IT: The current exchange rate is approximately 194.4 RMB). The Sentinel dashcam card microSD and the Sentinel security monitoring card microSD will be launched in China later on, but the specific domestic prices have not yet been announced.
