Apple today announced the launch of AirPods 5, which supports active noise cancellation, with a starting price of 999 yuan in China.

JD currently supports government subsidies in certain regions. The delivery addresses include Jiangsu, Jilin, Beijing, and Dalian. Today, Hebei and Yunnan have been added to this list. The minimum actual payment is 849.15 yuan.

AirPods 5 features a brand-new porous acoustic architecture and incorporates a new generation of adaptive equalization technology to create a more immersive sound experience. Apple claims that its breakthrough noise-cancelling technology, which does not require earbuds, eliminates external noise by up to 50% compared to AirPods 4 (which also supports active noise cancellation), and the transparent mode is even more natural. Users can also respond using head movements with Siri.

Apple stated that the new porous acoustic architecture and the next-generation adaptive equalization feature, specifically designed for AirPods, are inspired by AirPods Pro 3. They are suitable for a wider range of ear shapes and can deliver a richer and more nuanced sound quality.

For users with higher demands, the AirPods 5 model, which comes with a wireless charging case, further enhances the AirPods experience. The AirPods 5 is the first wireless earbud model to be equipped with a force sensor that supports volume swiping; users can quickly adjust the volume by swiping up and down on the earbud handle.

Thanks to the redesigned battery, the battery life of the AirPods has also been improved. Apple claims that with a single charge, the playback time with active noise cancellation enabled can reach up to 5 hours, which is 1 hour longer than that of the AirPods 4 (which also supports active noise cancellation). When used with the charging case and active noise cancellation is enabled, the battery life can extend up to 22 hours. The wireless charging case supports charging with the Apple Watch charger, Qi compatible chargers, and USB-C chargers.

The new AirPods 5 is designed with environmental protection in mind, with recycled materials accounting for 40% of its overall composition. This includes the use of 70% recycled plastic for the wireless charging case and 100% recycled cobalt for the battery. The entire production process of the AirPods 5 across the supply chain utilizes 35% renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. Like other Apple products, its paper packaging is made from 100% fibrous base materials, which users can easily recycle at home.

IT has learned from Apple official sources that the AirPods 5 also comes with upgraded dustproof, sweat-resistant, and water-resistant features, and is priced at 999 yuan. For users with higher requirements, the AirPods 5, which comes with a wireless charging case, offers longer battery life and a volume control function on the earbud handle, and is priced at 1,149 yuan.
