News from the IT community on October 9th: Technology media Windows Central published a blog post today (October 9th) testing Microsoft's newly restructured XBOX PC application (with the internal code name Garrison), stating that this version focuses on improving performance and usability.
The demonstration video attached to the home of IT is as follows:
The media editor, Jez Corden ( Jez Corden ), stated that his first impression of the new version was an improvement in performance. Tests using a large game library containing over 1,400 Xbox games revealed that the game loading speed was significantly faster than in the old version, and users also found it easier to distinguish between games that could be installed and those that could be streamed through Xbox Cloud Gaming.

On the interface, in the old version of the app, the store list and the game list were on two separate pages. In the new version, these have been integrated into a single interface, reducing the number of steps users need to perform when switching between game information, purchase options, and library management.

The new application is compatible with both mouse and keyboard operations as well as controller input. Users can set it as the default home screen for the new "game mode" Windows. In controller mode, the interface automatically adapts to the controller's scaling ratio, making it suitable for handheld devices such as Xbox Ally.
Windows Central pointed out that the number of new features in earlier versions was limited, and the focus of updates was on improving speed, navigation efficiency, and usability. The media also mentioned that the app store page has not yet been fully implemented, and capabilities such as developer exposure, community tool display, and comment presentation are still subject to observation.
