Tesla Robotaxi app is now available for download in more countries. The app has been listed in the Apple App Store and Google Play stores in the UK, Australia, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Singapore, and other regions, with more areas to be added in the future.

However, at this stage, don't expect to see driverless Model Y vehicles or Cybercab cars without steering wheels on the streets of London or Berlin any time soon. The app is available for download in overseas regions mainly to facilitate tourists visiting the United States, who can then use this autonomous driving taxi service upon their arrival there.
Now anyone can download the Robotaxi app.
IT Home has noticed that since the launch of this service, the usage permissions have been significantly relaxed. Last summer when Tesla first launched the Robotaxi beta version, the accompanying App only supported Apple's iOS system, and users also had to wait on a waiting list to get a spot. Earlier this spring, Tesla finally released an Android version, ending the situation where this car-hailing service App had only supported iPhone for nearly a year.
Nowadays, as long as one downloads this app and is in an area where the service is already available, anyone can directly call an autonomous vehicle. For international travelers, this means that they can complete the installation of App in their home country before setting off on their journey.
Robotaxi Operations are still limited to seven cities in the United States.
Although this App has been launched in dozens of countries, the taxi-hailing service itself has not been extended overseas simultaneously. Tesla's current Robotaxi service is only operational in seven cities in the United States: Austin, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
At this stage, only Austin is able to call for Cybercab vehicles; however, in other cities such as Miami and Dallas where services have already been launched, there have also been reports of Cybercab vehicles being seen on the roads. You can refer to Tesla's Robotaxi operational market guide to see the extent of coverage for each service area.
Austin is also a market that has recently undergone business adjustments. Last week, Tesla extended the Robotaxi operating hours in Austin, and local commercial services now operate until as late as 11 p.m.
Robotaxi When will it be able to expand overseas?
Although ride-hailing apps have expanded overseas, their entire operational network has not yet ventured beyond the United States. Elon Musk did mention last month that Cybercab might soon be available in Europe, but this was merely a hint of intention without a clear timeline for implementation. To this day, European regulatory authorities have not even finalized the approval rules for the supervisory version of FSD that would apply across the entire EU.
Tesla is likely to first complete a wider business coverage within the United States before considering expansion overseas. In the meantime, in overseas regions, App download services are mainly available for tourists visiting the US; it will still take some time before people can ride in Robotaxi autonomous taxis in Europe or Asia.
