David Ellison ( David Ellison ), CEO of Paramount Pictures ( Paramount SkyDance ), announced today that after the company completes its merger with Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) next week, the merged entity will be named “ Skydance ”.
According to the agreement reached in February of this year, Paramount will acquire Warner Bros. for $110 billion (Note from IT: the current exchange rate is approximately 738.601 billion yuan), defeating Netflix in this months-long bidding war. The transaction is expected to be completed on October 6th.
David Ellison previously announced that after the completion of the $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, Mattel's former CEO Ian Croze will join him in overseeing the merged company, serving as co-CEO. Paramount stated that Ellison will continue to serve as the chairman of the merged company, and senior executives will report to both of them.
IT has noted that the appointment of Kreiz is just one of a series of high-level personnel adjustments at Paramount. Ellison will build a merged management team that includes both core talents from Warner Bros. and senior managers like Kreiz to handle this complex merger transaction. Once the deal is completed, the operations of two major film studios, streaming platforms, television networks, and news organizations will all come under the same company.
