Robinhood Users will soon be able to use a AI proxy, which can conduct transactions on their behalf even at 2 a.m. In addition, they will also be able to trade encrypted perpetual contracts.

Robinhood is introducing the automated trading feature driven by AI into its applications, allowing customers to build strategies and place orders on their behalf.
The platform will also add encrypted perpetual futures, with Bitcoin and Ethereum allowing for up to 10x leverage.
Both of these products are targeted at active traders, but they are currently being gradually rolled out to eligible American customers.
Nasdaq-listed company Robinhood ( HOOD ) announced the launch of Robinhood Agents at a HOOD Summit event held in Houston on Tuesday. This tool is built into the Robinhood application and can be used to study the market, build strategies, and place orders for customers at any time.
AI Agents are different from chatbots. Chatbots answer questions; agents, on the other hand, take action, which in this context means buying and selling on behalf of clients within the limits set by the clients.
In other words, Robinhood is bringing automated trading, which has long been associated with hedge funds and quantitative companies, to ordinary investors.
This represents a further advancement from the feature launched by Robinhood in May of this year. Previously, this feature allowed skilled users to connect their AI proxies to their accounts. The company stated that since then, over 150,000 customers have opened proxy trading accounts, and these proxies are now invoking the Robinhood tool nearly 30 million times per day.
Now, anyone can do this. Customers can name their own agents, set up separate accounts for them, choose a model from the laboratories including OpenAI, and specify restrictions. The GPT-Luna model of OpenAI will be available for free until the end of this year.
This announcement aligns with a broader industry trend: AI Agents can now transfer funds, pay bills, and place trades on behalf of users. The Muse assistants of Meta are already able to view users' bank balances and investment situations, while the payment protocol x402 developed by Coinbase allows agents to provide services using stablecoins without the need for manual approval. However, not everyone is comfortable with this. Apollo Chief Economist Torsten Slok warned on Sunday that if families allow AI agents to automatically transfer cash to the highest-yielding accounts, banks may lose "a large number of cheap deposits on which they rely to issue loans."
Transactions bring another issue. Thousands of agents running similar models and using similar data may all place orders at the same time, amplifying what would otherwise be small market fluctuations into severe swings. However, for now, most of these risks remain theoretical, as this technology is still in its early stages.
Next, we are introducing a feature named Loops. This feature will turn a certain strategy into a continuous command that the proxy will execute repeatedly day and night. For example, the proxy can check the market every morning and trade when specific conditions are met; or it can run a certain strategy at night while the customer is sleeping. Robinhood indicates that Loops is about to be launched.
Robinhood Vice President of Product Management Abhishek Fatehpuria said: "Whether you are an expert or just starting to get in touch with AI, if you don't use Robinhood, you are at a disadvantage."
However, there are also protective measures in place. Proxies can only use funds from their own accounts. By default, customers must approve each transaction, but they have the option to turn off this setting.
Sustainable futures, also known as perps, are bets on the prices of cryptocurrencies with no expiration dates. They are primarily traded on offshore exchanges and constitute a large portion of cryptocurrency trading, with a daily trading volume exceeding 200 billion US dollars.
Traders deposit a margin, and exchanges allow them to control positions several times larger than the size of their margin. They can bet on price increases or decreases. Robinhood will allow for up to 10x leverage for Bitcoin and Ethereum, while SOL, XRP, DOGE, ADA, LINK, and HYPE allow for up to 3x leverage. This means that a 10x leveraged position could be completely wiped out if it fluctuates 10% in an unfavorable direction.
Robinhood will offer perpetual contracts through its encrypted exchange Bitstamp, which it acquired last year, and will charge only 0.01% per transaction by the end of this year.
These two new products together indicate that Robinhood aims to become the preferred platform for active traders, offering readily available leverage, as well as the capability to place orders at 2 a.m. with AI.
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev stated: "We are transforming Robinhood into the most suitable platform in the world for active traders by providing tools that were once exclusive to hedge funds, large banks, and quantitative firms."

These two products still need to be further advanced towards launch. Robinhood Agents will be "soon" made available to eligible American customers, while perpetual contracts are expected to be launched in the coming months.
