According to Yonhap News, Noh Mi-jeong, a senior executive in Samsung's wafer foundry business, stated at the "2026 Korea High-End Week" investor relations event that since its independence in 2017, the number of customers for this business has grown by about three times, and it is expected to reach five times that of 2017 by 2029; the contribution of HPC to revenue is also expected to rise from 5% in 2017 to 66% by 2029. IT News on September 29th: According to Yonhap News, Noh Mi-jeong, a senior executive in Samsung's wafer foundry business, shared her outlook for the business at the "2026 Korea High-End Week" investor relations event today.

Noh Mi-jeong mentioned that since wafer foundry became an independent business in 2017, the number of its customers has increased by about three times, and it is expected to reach five times that of 12 years ago by 2029.

HPC's contribution to Samsung's wafer foundry business has grown from 5% in 2017 to 28% today, and it is expected to reach 66% by 2029. By then, over half of Samsung's wafer foundry customers and revenue will come from the HPC sector.

Samsung Electronics plans to mass-produce the third-generation 2nm process by 2028 ( SF2P +), and achieve mass production at the 1.4nm node by 2029 ( SF1.4 ). The company intends to start operations of its first wafer factory in Texas, USA by the end of 2026; the construction of the second wafer factory will also begin in 2026, with mass production scheduled for 2030.
