Iranian official: If attacks resume, U.S. political targets will be targeted
2026-10-22 04:44:38
According to CoinMeta, as reported by Iranian media Fars News, a senior Iranian security official stated that Iran believes the United States and Israel could launch attacks at any time and no longer trusts the diplomatic stance of the United States. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's speech in Athens further reinforced this assessment by Iran. Iranian political and intellectual elites generally believe that the U.S. policy towards the Middle East is dominated by Israel, which will not allow the U.S. to seek diplomatic solutions, as U.S. President Donald Trump always gives priority to Israel. Iran now considers itself to be in a state of war with the United States and views the economic sanctions, maritime blockades, and airspace restrictions imposed by the U.S. as a continuation of military aggression. The pressure within Iran to break these sanctions through decisive action is increasing. The official said that Iran has instructed combat units at all levels that if a new round of large-scale warfare breaks out, including assassinations of Iranian officials or killings of civilians, Iran will regard U.S. political targets, participating parties, and their infrastructure as legitimate targets for attack.
