Certik: Cryptographic applications still face the risk of emudhra certificate vulnerabilities
2026-10-21 21:52:46
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Certik, despite Google, Apple, and Microsoft having blocked 8 affected certificates issued by emudhra, crypto trading bots and exchange applications still face vulnerability risks. Peiyu Wang, the Senior Director of Digital Asset Security at Certik, pointed out that attackers can use these compromised certificates to impersonate exchanges, wallet interfaces, and API to replace recharge addresses or induce users to approve malicious transactions. However, such attacks require intercepting or redirecting network traffic, and the keys of the affected certificate authorities cannot expose wallet private keys. Crypto service providers should update their software and certificate trust libraries and ensure that their applications reject affected certificates.
