Aethir Updates Token Economy Model, Starting from November Will Destroy ATH Daily
2026-10-21 17:42:56
According to CoinMeta, the decentralized GPU cloud computing network Aethir has announced an update to its token economy model. Starting from November 2026, a portion of the daily network fees will be used to destroy ATH tokens, and the destroyed tokens will be sent to a public black hole address. The daily destruction volume is determined by a public formula and its parameters and is linked to the network's actual revenue. Additionally, Aethir will replace fixed platform fees with floating network fees, with the rate determined by a formula based on the time-weighted average price TWAP. When the market weakens, the fees decrease, and the proportion used for destruction increases. There is an upper limit to the floating network fees, which will not exceed the value of the cloud host rewards, and there is no lower limit; these fees can drop to zero during market downturns. The token release plan for cloud hosts remains unchanged. A destruction dashboard will be launched in November along with the first destruction, displaying the daily, monthly, and cumulative destruction volumes as well as complete transaction records. This destruction mechanism has been audited by Certik. The total supply of ATH tokens is fixed at 42 billion.
