According to CoinMeta, as reported by Fortune, households in the United States aged 55 and above held approximately $14 trillion in wealth in the second quarter of 2026, accounting for about three-quarters of the nation's total net assets. According to a report from the Bank of America Research Institute on October 1st, the net assets of this group have grown by more than 20% over the past two years. With the strong rise in the stock market, the wealth of elderly families has increased significantly, with technology stocks driving market performance in particular. People aged 55 and above in the U.S. account for about 31% of the total population but control around 75% of the net assets. The report points out that the consumption patterns of elderly consumers differ from those of younger families, and as the population ages, their influence in the market is growing increasingly stronger.
