According to CoinMeta, the minutes of the Federal Reserve meeting will reveal just how deep the divisions among officials are. The Fed is scheduled to release the minutes of its September monetary policy meeting at 2 a.m. on Thursday. According to analysis by foreign media, the minutes are expected to show that there are broader disagreements among officials regarding the future interest rate path, which could affect the Fed's next policy actions. Although the market generally expects the Fed to keep interest rates unchanged in October, the September meeting minutes may help to reveal just how deep the divisions among Fed officials are: some officials believe that inflation is still strong and persistent and that further policy tightening is needed. For example, Dallas Fed Chairman Lohren believes that at least two more 25-basis-point rate hikes are required to control inflation; other officials tend to be more patient, waiting for new data to prove that further rate hikes are indeed necessary. New York Fed Chairman Williams, for instance, believes that "there is no need to rush" when deciding when to raise rates again, a view echoed by Fed Vice Chairperson Jefferson.
