CoinMeta data: In September 2023, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) increased its gold holdings by 740,000 ounces, marking the largest monthly purchase since 2023. This increase raised the PBOC's gold reserves from 76.73 million ounces in August to 77.47 million ounces, representing the 23rd consecutive month of gold acquisitions. The September increase was approximately 23 tons, and the total increase for the year has reached around 103 tons. Despite a more than 6% decline in gold prices in September, the value of the PBOC's gold reserves remained at $323.52 billion.
