CoinMeta data: Kalshi’s 15-minute gold market surpassed Ethereum contracts just a few weeks after its launch, recording 5.42 million contracts in September, while the Ethereum-related market had 3.18 million contracts. Prediction charts estimate that gold generated approximately 5 million US dollars in transaction fees that month, nearly twice the 2.6 million US dollars of the Ethereum market. Bitcoin’s market fees were as high as 60.4 million US dollars. Kalshi launched a 15-minute gold series in August, with contracts asking traders whether gold would be above or below the reference level at the end of each 15-minute period. The total volume of gold in September was about 70% higher than Ethereum’s 3.18 million contracts. The market page for Kalshi shows that these contracts have been active since August 7th.
