According to CoinMeta, Mistral announced the launch of its open-weight model Mistral Large 4 ( ML4 ), claiming that it is the most powerful model built outside of China. The model's network security capabilities are its main selling point, and it is codenamed “ Le Chonk ”. Mistral stated that the model will release downloadable weights on October 27th, after being tested by developers, security companies, and government agencies for three weeks. Mistral's chief scientist, Guillaume Lample, said that ML4 is at the forefront of open-weight models. The model scored 62% in the Deepswe V1 .1 tests, slightly higher than Zhipu AI's GLM-5.3. Research from Anthropic indicates that the built-in protection measures of GLM-5.3 can be bypassed by attackers with a probability as high as 100% in simulation tests. Mistral also announced that it raised 3 billion euros in September, with a valuation of over 21 billion euros.
