According to CoinMeta, Adam Izra, who refers to himself as a "godfather" ( Adam Iza ), was sentenced to 6 years in prison for a $37 million Meta fraud case. The 26-year-old Izra was sentenced to 78 months in prison for charges including fraud ( Meta ), tax evasion, and using a Los Angeles deputy police officer to intimidate competitors. The judge also ordered him to pay $23.4 million in damages. In January 2025, Izra pleaded guilty to rights-related conspiracies, online fraud, and tax evasion. This sentence will be served concurrently with the 15-year prison term he was given in August 2024 for his involvement in a Bitcoin robbery case. Prosecutors stated that Izra obtained access to the Meta business management account and sold this access to advertising companies, resulting in Meta charging customers for unsold advertisements and then refunding them. He earned at least $36.4 million from this, causing the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) a tax loss of about $13.3 million.
