According to CoinMeta, OpenAI is piloting a new recruitment process called “Mission Interview,” which will be applied to candidates for specific teams. OpenAI states that this new process is designed to provide candidates with a dedicated space to discuss how they can contribute to the company’s mission, which is “to ensure that artificial general intelligence (AGI) benefits all of humanity.” The company aims to assess candidates’ ways of thinking, including their judgment and ability to weigh options, which are becoming increasingly important in the process of technology control by artificial intelligence companies. OpenAI is also creating a training program that interested employees can complete in order to obtain certification for conducting these interviews. The company currently has about 8,000 employees globally and is recruiting for 830 positions. Many tech companies, including Meta and Amazon, also have similar “Mission Interview” processes.
