Metaplanet: New rules allow for the transfer of 15% of assets, up to 44,000 Bitcoins
2026-10-05 19:06:21
According to CoinMeta, Metaplanet owns 44,000 bitcoins, but the market value of its assets in Tokyo is less than the value of these bitcoins. The company modified its rules on Monday, allowing up to 15% of its assets to be invested in other assets besides bitcoins. Since April 2024, Metaplanet has raised funds and invested in bitcoins, and currently about 85% to 90% of its assets will continue to remain in bitcoins. CEO Simon Gerovich stated that buying bitcoins was never the only plan. The new rules will be used for fund acquisitions, purchasing income securities, and launching investment businesses within the plan. Metaplanet also agreed to transfer 2,100 bitcoins and $2.5 million to Super League Enterprise, which is listed on NASDAQ. The company expects to take control of that enterprise and plans to rename it Superplanet.
