goplus Monitoring: Users lost approximately 305,000 DAI due to address poisoning attacks
2026-10-04 20:22:42
According to CoinMeta, as monitored by goplus and security, a user suffered a loss of approximately 305,000 DAI due to an "address poisoning" address poisoning attack. The attacker transferred a small amount of tokens to the victim to create a fake address with highly similar beginning and ending characters, inducing the victim to copy the wrong address directly from the transaction history during subsequent transfers. goplus pointed out that such attacks have now become highly automated, covering the entire process from target selection, forging tokens with the same name or performing minor "poisoning" attacks, to using mixers for money laundering. Users are reminded not to copy addresses directly from historical transaction records and to verify the full address before making any transfers, especially large ones, and to conduct small-scale tests beforehand.
