Hester Peirce: Financial privacy should be considered a default right to protection
2026-10-03 17:00:38
According to CoinMeta, the outgoing U.S. commissioner SEC, Hester Peirce, stated in an interview on September 27 that citizens' right to protect their financial privacy should be taken seriously. She pointed out that people are usually not required to disclose all of their financial transactions to the world, and although blockchain has the advantage of being open and transparent, it therefore needs to incorporate privacy protection mechanisms even more. Peirce believes that while ensuring that law enforcement agencies can perform their duties properly, it should be considered a default state for people to protect their own privacy in daily life, and they should not be suspected of engaging in improper behavior as a result.
