SEC Chairman Atkins: Will update hosting rules and advance multiple crypto regulatory proposals

According to CoinMeta, Chairman Atkins published a document outlining the roadmap for crypto regulation, pointing out that the custody provisions in the "Investment Advisors Law" and the "Investment Companies Law" are outdated. The proposal aims to fill the gap in custody capabilities. Atkins clarified that the regulatory sequence includes ending the practice of using law enforcement as a substitute for proper regulation, a no-action letter regarding securities tokenization pilots in December 2025, classification guidelines for tokenized securities in January 2026, registration instructions for brokers dealing in tokenized securities in April, a proposal for an issuance framework in August Regulation Crypto Assets, as well as exemptions for innovation. It was also announced that more regulatory proposals are on the way.
