According to CoinMeta, California Attorney General Rob Bonta ( Rob Bonta ) stated on Thursday that his office issued a subpoena to OpenAI on Wednesday, requesting answers regarding a cybersecurity incident involving its AI model. Bonta said, "My office is raising additional questions regarding the cybersecurity incidents and risks associated with that company's AI model." A subpoena is a legal order requiring the provision of documents or answers, and ignoring such a subpoena could result in legal consequences. This subpoena is part of an investigation aimed at gathering facts to determine whether to file a lawsuit. Bonta's office has not yet made public what information it hopes OpenAI will provide.
