Futurist Amy Webb: Fortune 500 companies face 'learned helplessness' in the AI field
2026-10-03 01:12:02
According to CoinMeta, futurist Amy Webb stated at the Fortune AIQ Summit that Fortune 500 companies are lagging behind in the field of artificial intelligence, and many investments have not been accompanied by clear plans. She pointed out that companies lack strategy when conducting AI pilots, resulting in isolated projects, and employees feel frustrated due to their inability to effectively use AI tools. Webb suggested that companies should be more flexible rather than striving to become “AI native” firms. She also mentioned that companies have issues in defining return on investment, which prevents improvements in individual productivity from being reflected at the corporate level. Webb emphasized that companies must establish effective mechanisms to address the challenges brought about by AI.
