Fears about French debt drive funds towards the Swiss franc
2026-10-02 18:53:20
According to CoinMeta, concerns regarding France's debt situation have impacted European markets, and the Swiss franc is attracting attention as a safe-haven asset to hedge against European risks. After struggling in recent months, the Swiss franc is set to record its best weekly performance since April of last year against the euro. Due to doubts about France's ability to control its debt before next year's elections, inflows of safe-haven funds have changed the trend of the Swiss franc. Francesco Pesole, a currency strategist at ING Group, stated: "When eurozone debt risks soar, the Swiss franc is always the preferred safe-haven asset."
