Analyst: NEAR Intents hacked, Bitget attacked after funds were stolen
2026-10-02 02:20:28
According to CoinMeta, the multi-chain trading protocol NEAR Intents announced today that its services have been suspended due to a hacker attack, resulting in losses of $3.8 million. The protocol disclosed this security incident at 2 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time and stated that it would restore services within an hour, having fixed the "contract-side vulnerabilities." However, deposits and withdrawals across networks including BSC, Polygon, TON, Optimism, Avalanche, Stellar, Monad, LayerX, ADI, Scroll, and Plasma will remain unavailable until the repairs are completed. Alex Shevchenko, the general manager of NEAR Intents, stated that the protocol had previously successfully frozen $500,000 of stolen funds from Bitget, with only $166,000 being able to be recovered. This incident has raised doubts among crypto users about the degree of decentralization of NEAR Intents.
