According to CoinMeta, Japan plans to build a $15 billion AI data center in Chiba. Dell and Apollo will support the financing and operation of this 400MW project, which is expected to commence in 2028. The project will combine power generation, cooling, and standardized AI computing infrastructure, aiming to become a replicable model for national-level AI infrastructure. The project is designed to be directly connected to existing power generation infrastructure to address power availability issues in the construction of large-scale AI data centers. Dell will provide standardized AI infrastructure, while JERA will provide the land and round-the-clock electricity supply. The full capacity of the project is expected to be achieved in 2029.
