According to CoinMeta, and as reported by Fortune, thieves stole a truck of the Nvidia brand that was loaded with 20,000 pounds of sand. This incident highlights the $15 billion AI hardware theft problem faced by large technology companies. PlusAI confirmed that last week, two trailers from its warehouse in Fremont, California, were stolen, one of which was of the Nvidia brand. Although PlusAI uses Nvidia chips for its autonomous driving technology, the stolen trailers did not contain these chips; instead, they were loaded with 40,000 pounds of sand. The theft occurred at night, and staff discovered the missing trailers the next morning. PlusAI stated that since its establishment in 2016, there had never been an incident of trailer theft before.
