Zano Blockchain Attack Results in Over $200 Million in Illegal Token Minting; Project Team Has Rolled Back Chain Status
2026-10-02 00:40:45
According to CoinMeta, due to a verification gap in the gateway and addresses introduced by hard and fork, attackers minted approximately 18.4 million Zano and FUSD on August 29th and September 25th respectively. The value of these illicit tokens exceeded 200 million US dollars, involving 117,941 outputs and 65,301 transactions. The chain state has been restored from block 3,833,000, and the gateway and addresses have been disabled. The affected balances will be fully restored, while the Zano supply and issuance plan remain unchanged. (Source: bitcoin.com news)
