CoinMeta data: According to Certik data, crypto security losses in the third quarter of 2026 reached $1.26 billion, a 53.9% increase from $819.4 million in the second quarter. A total of 247 security incidents occurred that quarter, with losses in September amounting to approximately $769 million. The $387.5 million hacker attack on Bitget exchange accounted for about 31% of the total losses. In addition, the $319 million vulnerability incident on Liquid Network on September 6th ranked second.
