According to CoinMeta, data from PMI shows that manufacturing costs in the UK rose for the first time in four months in September, despite output growth being the lowest since March. The report indicates that the increase in input costs for factories was the largest since June, and the pace of rising commodity prices also accelerated. Rob Dobson, Director of Financial Intelligence at S&P Global Markets, stated, "The significant change in September is reflected in the price indicators in the survey, which shifted from showing a decline in inflationary pressures to an increase again." After Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey and other senior officials warned that the surge in energy prices triggered by the Iran war could exacerbate broader inflation, investors expect the Bank of England to raise interest rates in November. Business confidence is lower than its six-month high set in August, reflecting concerns about geopolitical, economic, and domestic policy prospects. Employment continued to expand for the sixth consecutive month due to improved new orders and a willingness to reduce backlogs, but the pace of hiring is below the two-year high reached in August.
