What Will Happen to ETH After MetaMask Withdraws as a Verifier?
2026-10-01 16:35:31
CoinMeta US stock news: MetaMask has recently begun to take down affected Ethereum validators due to a security incident in its infrastructure. The company stated that customers' withdrawal keys are not under their control. Although this distinction is important, it does not mean that the transition is instantaneous; exiting the validators, making withdrawals, and launching alternative validators are three separate processes. MetaMask mentioned in an update on September 30 that they are dealing with a ongoing incident affecting their infrastructure and claimed that no direct threat to MetaMask wallets was found. As a precautionary measure, MetaMask is coordinating with customers and partners to remove the affected validators from their unmanaged staking operations. The statement did not specify which components were damaged, the number of validator keys involved, the amount of funds staked, the affected customers, the exact time of the issue, or any losses incurred.
