According to CoinMeta, the manufacturing sector in the eurozone continued its recovery trend in September, with growth rates reaching the fastest level in over four years. S&P Global's eurozone manufacturing PMI index rose for the third consecutive month, from 52.7 in August to 52.9 in September, reaching the highest level since May 2022. S&P Global Market Intelligence's chief business economist Chris Williamson stated that this recovery was driven by increased demand for capital goods such as machinery and equipment. In September, the output growth rate for these capital goods reached a level not seen since the economic rebound after the COVID-19 pandemic five years ago, particularly reflecting an increase in demand for artificial intelligence and defense-related equipment. The growth rate of new orders reached the fastest level since the beginning of 2022, partly due to increased exports, which also saw their growth rate reach the highest level in over four and a half years. The output sub-index rose to 53.6, a 55-month high, and boosted business confidence to the highest level since February. However, rising prices may threaten this recovery trend, with inflation expected to rise from 3.2% in August to 3.6% in September.
