Solana Collateral Agreement Marinade Disclosure DAO Voting Program Vulnerability
2026-10-01 16:06:57
According to CoinMeta, the staking protocol Solana disclosed that on September 25th, attackers exploited a vulnerability in the voting process DAO to make a small number of MNDE votes counted as a much higher number of votes than actually received, and submitted two malicious proposals: one forged "MIP-23" in an attempt to replace the voting process, and the other attempted to transfer DAO treasury funds. Marinade stated that the holder of MNDE had already suppressed two proposals in the vote, and DAO Council exercised its veto power approximately 6 hours later. With nearly 4 days remaining before the proposals could be executed, no funds were transferred. mSOL, Native Staking, and SAM were unaffected. The team has deployed a temporary fix to prevent voting power escalation and will continue to roll out permanent code fixes and stricter protection mechanisms for sensitive proposals.
