Of this amount, nearly $8 million was dedicated to promoting the U.S. Crypto Market Structure Act CLARITY Act. However, the bill ultimately failed to gain the 60 votes required to move forward in the Senate. Among the expenditures related to this bill, approximately $2.4 million was paid to external lobbying firms, about $2.1 million was used for internal lobbying by industry associations, and the remainder came mainly from the own lobbying teams of crypto companies. In the first half of the year, about $2.2 million in lobbying expenses were associated with this bill, with Kraken accounting for nearly $1 million, and Digital Currency Group, Jump Crypto, and Paradigm also being significant participants.
