According to CoinMeta, Carhartt CEO Linda Hubbard warns that schools are leading Generation Z students away from profitable skilled careers. She points out that the American blue-collar workforce is facing a crisis, with an estimated 1.7 million skilled job vacancies per year by 2035, yet current training programs can only produce 55% of the workers needed. Hubbard emphasizes that many students do not receive a clear path to success, resulting in less than half of apprentices completing their training. Although 95% of mentors believe vocational schools are valuable, only 54% of mentors frequently recommend them, and 28% recommend apprenticeship programs. Hubbard hopes that new data and labor alliances can improve skill training programs to ensure that more workers can successfully enter this field.
