Brent oil prices rise 14%, Iranian negotiations stall

CoinMeta data: Brent oil prices have risen by 14% due to stalled negotiations between Iran and other parties, with an expected increase of 14% in September. Despite the resumption of crude oil exports from the Middle East, Brent oil prices continue to rise due to the stalled negotiations between the United States and Iran and tensions in the diesel market. Last month, Brent oil prices rose to around $103 per barrel, and the December contract increased by about 1.7% to around $97.80. Oil prices are trading above $90. Although physical supply has improved and Gulf crude oil exports have resumed to about 23.3 million barrels per day, with Saudi Arabia also resuming shipments from Yanbu, traders still have to pay a considerable geopolitical premium. Due to the tense relations between the United States and Iran, Brent oil prices have broken through $100, reigniting concerns about shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar is mediating negotiations between Washington and Tehran, but no agreement has yet been reached to restore normal shipping flows. President Trump has also denied reports that Washington would provide sanctions relief for Iran's nuclear program. This makes crude oil prices more susceptible to potential disruptions, rather than the crude oil that has already returned to the market.
