Bitbank transfers all shares to Sumitomo Mitsui Trust and Banking Corporation, with delivery expected on October 1st

CoinMeta US stock news: According to CoinPost, Japanese crypto exchange Bitbank has announced the transfer of all its shares in Japan Digital Asset Trust Preparation Co., Ltd. (JADAT) to Sumitomo Mitsui Trust and Banking Corporation. The amount of the transfer has not been disclosed, and delivery is expected to be completed on October 1st. After the completion of the transfer, JADAT will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group. JADAT was initially initiated by both parties in May 2022, with the plan to be renamed "Japan Digital Asset Trust" after completing registration under the Trust Industry Act. It was intended to provide institutional clients with trust custody and isolation management services for crypto assets, security tokens (ST), stablecoins, and NFT. In addition, SBI, which holds a controlling stake, has previously announced an investment of 46.7 billion yen to advance a full acquisition and take complete control of Bitbank. The related acquisition transaction is also expected to be completed around October.
