According to CoinMeta, Moonpay launched a subsidiary in South Korea on September 29, 2026, with plans to use the country as a base for its broader expansion across Asia. The company aims to connect local banking infrastructure with global digital asset payment and stablecoin networks, with a focus on remittances, payments, settlements, and the overseas distribution of Korean digital assets. Moonpay is collaborating with local banks such as Woori, KB financial groups, and KakaoBank to build remittance and payment services. Moonpay noted that South Korea has a mature ecosystem that includes banks, credit card companies, and blockchain enterprises. The company hopes to connect this domestic network with its global payment and stablecoin infrastructure.
