According to CoinMeta, Federal Reserve Governor Michael Barr reiterated the call for further interest rate hikes on September 29 during a speech at the Detroit Economic Club, with the aim of bringing inflation rates down to 2%. He noted that the market's probability of a rate hike in October has dropped from around 70% to 50%. Barr stated that with strong economic growth and stable employment, policymakers need to pay more attention to the risk of persistent inflation. On the other hand, New York Fed Chair John Williams holds a more cautious view on the next rate hike, indicating that he still expects one hike this year, but may take time to assess the upcoming data.
