Some of the largest data center projects being built in the United States include the Meta El Paso data center located in Texas, which is scheduled to be completed on August 13, 2026, with an investment of over $10 billion and is expected to provide 1 gigawatt of power. In addition, the Project Freebird data center, in collaboration with OpenAI, is also being constructed in Texas and is planned to provide 1.2 gigawatts of power. According to Pew Research Center, there are currently over 3,000 data centers in operation in the United States, and it is estimated that by 2030, data centers will consume 11.8% of the country's electricity.
